About 6 miles out of the town we come to a narrow road leading to a cluster of small houses and a couple of docks floating on the inlet waters. We parked the car, loaded up Kjell's little motor boat and made the short trip to his family island. There are two houses on the island, one belonging to his family and the other to his cousins. Conditions are a little primitive (no running water) but still comfortable with electricity, a new phone hook-up, and a nice woodstove. This page shows photos of the house and from the house. Outside shots are on other pages. From the shore, the island is visible across about a half-mile of water in the center of this photo.
